There is only one wine festival dedicated to Alsace-style wines and the Anderson Valley wineries are hosting the event, the 7th Annual International Alsace Varietals Festival, on February 18. This unique and exclusive wine tasting event will feature a celebration of Alsace-style wines, local foods, entertainment and more with wineries from around the world participating.
Saturday events include a Technical Conference from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. where you can interact with winemakers around the globe as they discuss winemaking and grape growing specifically for Alsace varietals.
Following will be an entertaining 30 minute cooking demonstration with Food Network star, Beau MacMillan. You will be able to sample his food at the Grand Tasting from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. As you stroll through the Grand Tasting Hall, you will be able to taste wines from around the country and throughout the world. Participating wineries include Breggo Cellars, Brooks, Claudia Springs Winery, Cutruzzola Vineyards, Esterlina, Foris, Greenwood Ridge Vineyards, Handley Cellars, Husch Vineyards, Lazy Creek Vineyards, Londer Vineyards, Navarro Vineyards, NY Finger Lakes Wine Alliance, New Zealand Winegrowers, Philo Ridge Vineyards, Toulouse Vineyards, Valkenberg, Robert Sinskey Vineyards, Tatomer, Thomas Fogarty Winery and many more.
Later that evening will be the “Dinner with the Winemakers” at 6:30 p.m. where you can continue your exploration of the noble Alsacian grapes at Scharffenberger Cellar’s elegant private dining room. You will be surrounded by works of art while savoring the warm, cozy atmosphere of the great site.
On Sunday, February 19 you are invited to the many local wineries at their open house where you will experience seminars, food and wine pairings, tours and much more.
