Things are beginning to heat up for the Interim RAW GM John Laurinaitis. On Monday's episode of RAW, Laurinaitis was laid out in the ring via a GTS from WWE champion CM Punk. Additionally, Laurinaitis received word that he will receive a job evaluation on next week's RAW, according to a Monday January 23rd report by WWE.com. At this point, it remains uncertain whether the WWE is going to fire John or not.
HHH is set to return next week to do the job evaluation. Although the popular decision would be to fire Laurinaitis, I'm leaning toward the minority opinion here of keeping John as the RAW GM at least until WrestleMania 28 in April. Typically after WM, the WWE begins a whole new cycle of storylines. This would be the perfect time to end Laurinaitis' reign.
Johnny Ace has really grown into his role as RAW GM and has become arguably the top heel on WWE TV. There's still some mileage left in this angle that could culminate in a larger outcome. With CM Punk attacking Laurinaitis at the end of RAW, I think that it could be the opening that John needs to maintain his role a little bit longer.
