Intercoastal Pirates invade Galveston's Moody Garden's Palm Beach this Friday, August 6th!

                            Rick Parks

Arrgghh, me maties… the Pirates have landed on

Galveston Island for Moody Garden’s Palm Beach “Band on the Sand” Friday, August 6th - 6 p.m. to 10 p.m!

And they intend to make you dance in the sand – not with

muskets, but with some of the most incredibly versatile

rockin’ music ever!

My first experience witnessing the Intercoastal Pirates was at last weekend’s Mosquito Festival in Clute, Texas. They are truly Texas’ favorite beach band. Opening at Mosquito Fest for Casey Donahew Band and Stoney LaRue, they had the crowd so pumped up; it was hard to believe it could get any better!

From all our favorite Red Dirt, Country Rock and Roll, Beachboys, Jimmy Buffett, and even Chicago and Willie Nelson they played for almost an hour and a half. They had a few versions of some songs that made the huge audience laugh until they cried!  And their new song “April’s Fool,” written by Chris Faulk, was just as much of a hit with us all! And the most important part was not only was I so enthralled by this extremely talented band -- which, for all intents and purposes seemed play so seamlessly, they could have been separated at birth – but they were having the time of their lives up there with it all!

Like magic, those incredibly talented vocalists and musical maestros, had an instant Pied Piper effect, spilling over the crowd like a tsunami of absolute infectious music and fun! To witness and experience the same ground-shaking “gotta dance” effect was irrestible and pure genius in their music line-up of songs! You can try to maintain a professional audience-goers attitude, but it sure changes quickly. I can readily attest to that, and no beer or wine or grog passed these lips, so it was just pure downright talent that made us have the time of our lives!

The fact that these guys have “real” jobs, (Rick Parks is a deputy sheriff!) you wonder why they bother with those jobs at all. But as Rick Parks says “It’s something we love, and fans just keep us busy everywhere with so many bookings! We do it for the fun of it (well, money too); we love to just play -- and seeing the enjoyment it creates! It’s also a family affair with a few of Mama Patsy’s 6 boys (and one girl.) They’re wives work just as hard to help them, greet you with grace and friendship and the love between these families is the most endearing!
They are extremely humble beneath that rock all night exterior and one of those bands you’ll follow anywhere. If they asked me to walk the plank… I would do it, but they have to sing to me all the way. As for Pirates, they will steal that musical heart from you by the first song!

“Yo Ho, me Hearties…this Motely Crew of Pirates you see before you play a variety of music, from Classic/ Southern Rock to Blues and Texas Country. If you would be interested in booking this group of Pirates, please contact us by email intercoastalpirates@hughes.net Intercoastal Pirates " Say these pirates that are sure to rock your boat!
