Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) World Championship starts tomorrow

Sarah Kerrigan may be the true Heart of the Swarm, but tomorrow, Hanover, Germany will temporarily take that position as Starcraft II (SC2) fans from around the world tune into the five-day Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) World Championship. The tournament features 24 pro SC2 players as well as a $250,000 prize pool that will be split between the winners of the SC2 and League of Legends tournaments.

Players are seeded into four groups. According to the tournament schedule, players in groups A and B will play tomorrow starting at 9:30 CET (that's 3:30 a.m. EST / 12:30 a.m. PST). Groups C and D will play starting at the same time on March 6 and 7, respectively. View participating players and their corresponding groups on the IEM website.

The tournament playoffs will be on March 8 and 9, starting at 9:30 CET and 9:10 CET, respectively. The top three players from each group will advance to the playoffs; additionally, each group winner will automatically earn a place in the quarter finals.

The tournament promises to showcase great play by fantastic pros right from the start. Tune in tomorrow to see reigning champion MC face off against the IEM Katowice winner, First, in Group B play. Participants will be playing Heart of the Swarm (versus Wings of Liberty).
