Established in 2003, the Tipitina's Foundation is a non-profit organization that works to support the music community of Louisiana through educational programs and musician support services. It was established to promote childhood music education, the professional development of adult musicians, and the importance of Louisiana music as a cultural, educational, and economic resource.

It does this with programs like Instruments a Comin', Tipitina’s Internship Program, Sunday Youth Music Workshops, and the Tipitina’s Music Office Co-Ops.

Thus far, Instruments A Comin' has provided 2.7 million dollars worth of musical instruments to more than 80 Louisiana schools.

This year's all-star event, held the Monday between Jazz Fest weekends, and will showcase the best of all things New Orleans - music, food, and art. There will be a Battle of the Bands, silent auction, and street festival, and doors are scheduled to open at 6:00 P.M. with a concert time of 8.

Musical entertainment includes Galactic, Anders Osborne, Dumpstaphunk, Nathan & The Zydeco Cha-Chas, New Orleans Suspects, Bonerama, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Susan Cowsill, Honey Island Swamp Band, Flow Tribe, and Naughty Professor.

Every dollar raised at Instruments A Comin’ goes to purchasing high-quality musical instruments for NOLA area schools, and after school music programs.
