Milwaukee runners will take to the Historic Third Ward on Thursday, September 12, to race and raise funds for a statewide philanthropic cause benefiting young people who have endured serious burn injuries.
The 5K race and two-mile walk , hosted by InStep Physical Therapy and Running Center, begin at 6 p.m. Participants pay a $10 suggested donation to support the Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety’s summer camp for burn-injured youth.
Both courses begin at InStep’s Third Ward store, located at 403 East Buffalo Street, in Milwaukee. These events are not timed or scored, and routes are open to traffic during the run and walk.
From May to November, InStep is cosponsoring social fun run/walk events to raise money for a variety of local charities. The September 12 event is part of that series, titled Run for a Reason.
Remaining Run for a Reason runs include:
- Saturday, October 19 – InStep and Coats for Kids
- Saturday, November 16 – InStep and Hunger Task Force
- Saturday, November 23 – Instep and FM 102.1 Kramp & Adler’s Kids Wish Toy Drive
