'Instant Karma' drummer makes guest appearance on live version of song at Gulf benefit (VIDEO)

In this video below, Star Anna performs "Instant Karma (We All Shine On)" with Alan White on drums Friday at the Hootenany for a Healthy Gulf" benefit at the Moore Theater Thursday night in Seattle. White played drums on John Lennon's original recording.

According to a review in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the show also featured a number of area musicians, including White, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam and Duff McKagan of Guns 'N Roses.

The paper also reported other Beatle covers were performed during the show. Mark Pickerel performed "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," while Star Anna also included "Oh! Darling" in their set. Additionally, White played drums on "Wild Horses" sung by McKagan.

Thanks for posting that! I didn't realize Alan White was still active! I guess drumming keeps you young ( witness Ringo and Denny Siewell!) Wouldn't it be cool if Alan White re-teamed with Klaus Voorman and Eric Clapton to do this as well as the songs from Live Peace in Toronto? (Well, OK, maybe not all 11 minutes of Don't Worry Kyoko....:-p) ;-)

Didn't realize Alan White was still active? He's been the drummer with Yes since 1972; they just wrapped up their latest tour.

Saw him in July in LA at a Frampton/Yes concert. When Yes took their bows at the end of the show, White ran down and looked like he was going to pass out! Did a great job during the show. He still looks better than some of his peers in Yes who make Keith Richards look young.
