Ben Gazzara took risks. The actor, famous for his part as the alcoholic son in the original “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” died this weekend at age 81. He was intense in his acting style and an inspiration for people seeking a risk-taking symbol for their career.

"Anatomy of a Murder," "Husbands," "The Killing of a Chinese Booki,” "Opening Night," "The Bridge at Remagen," "The Young Doctors," "They All Laughed," "The Big Lebowski," and "The Thomas Crown Affair."
He also acted often on stage. Starting in 2003 he performed in “Nobody Don’t Like Yogi,” a one-man show about Yogi Berra. He took the show across the country for two years.
Gazzara’ parents were immigrants from Sicily and he grew up speaking Italian. He started acting at age 11.
