Inspired team a success with first Christian Fashion Week (Photos)

Two years of endless planning, four driven people, 108 outfits, 40 models, vendors, volunteers, make-up and hair artists, lights, action, faith and much more were the keen elements for the first ever Christian Fashion Week in Tampa, Fla. this past Saturday evening.

Mayra Gomez and Tamy Lugo both with their respective husbands set out what they have been destined to do in regards to fashion. The two day event - Model4Jesus VIP reception and Christian Fashion Show - had many wondering what to expect but with faith their goal was successfully accomplished and hopefully with positive messages conveyed.

Both events were stylish which included vendors selling assorted accessories, a silent auction, lots of mingling and a swimwear exposition by Renee Scarborough with her Two Coconuts Swimwear line. The exposition enabled female only guest interaction where they could actually touch the swimwear fabric. Immediately after, the males joined for the exclusive fashion show that entailed seven additional designers showing off their specialty designs.

The fashion show line included cocktail dresses, evening gowns, floral inspired wedding gowns, distinct culture designs with a modern flare, lace, dyed feathers, menswear, prints and nature inspired designs. All of the designers including four from Tampa – Julia Chew the youngest designer, Alma Vidovic, Sandra Hagen, Sumita Bhojwani, Franco Montoro, Carmelita Couture, Renee Scarborough and Pat Mc Ghee – had a total of 108 outfits modeled that was also live streamed to 2,034 viewers.

It was the first time a fashion show of such prestigious magnitude took place in Tampa and hopefully the next Christian Fashion Week will be bigger and become just as famous worldwide to attract more designers to come to Tampa.
