Inspired In New York Honors Presents Cyndi Lauper on April 15th

Inspired In New York Honors presents another installment in their series honoring icons in New York City. This time, The Legendary Icon, Singer, Songwriter Cyndi Lauper is being honor on April 15 2013. The Grammy and Emmy award winning artist, composer and lyricist will be honored at Tian At The Riverbank in historic Harlem, New York. Attendance is by INVITE ONLY.

For over twenty-five years, Cyndi Lauper has been dazzling—and surprising—her fans all over the world. A multi-talented artist and one of music’s most beloved icons, she has racked up global record sales of over 50 million (and 14 Grammy nominations) and has won countless awards, from a Grammy and an Emmy to numerous honors for her tireless activism to ensure equality for all and to bring an end to gay and transgender youth homelessness through her foundation, the True Colors Fund.

In celebration of Ms. Lauper’s Broadway debut of her new musical Kinky Boots which opens on Broadway at the Hirschfeld Theatre on April 4th, the title release of Cyndi Lauper: A Memoir, the debut reality television show ‘Still So Unusual’ on WE TV and her numerous years as an innovator and trendsetter in the arts, media and entertainment industries Cyndi Lauper will receive a Congressional proclamation from the honorable Congressman Charles Rangel and a city proclamations from Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer and Speaker of the New York City Council Christine Quinn.

April 15th will be declared Cyndi Lauper Day in New York!
