Insomniac adds Kaskade & Axwell and releases single-day passes for EDC Mexico

On February 5, Insomniac announced additional artists to its line-up and the sale of single-day tickets for the debut of its first-ever, Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Mexico City at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez (racetrack) in Mexico City, Mexico on March 15-16.

Those attending will be able to experience four stages of the world;s best electronic dance music producers and DJs in the world including recently added headlining artists: Kaskade and Swedish House Mafia's very own Axwell. Additional artists added to the all-star line-up will be: A-Track, Cazette, DJ Breeazy, and DJ Melee.

Partnering with Insomniac will be promotional powerhouse OCESA to bring the renowned performances, dances, and theatrics amidst the festival grounds. In true Insomniac fashion, there will also be stunning audio-visual and pyrotechnic effects in addition to new and familiar art installations throughout. With the brand-new debut of “Wish,” a 50-foot three-piece dandelion sculpture and “Mayan Warrior” a new art car featuring elaborate lighting design and flame effects, these detailed elements encompass what makes Insomniac’s events so unique and desirable to the world.

Responding to the EDC Mexico City debut, CEO and founder of Insomniac Pasquale Rotela in a press release stated,

For EDC's first journey to Mexico City, I want to bring signature elements of the festival as well as new surprises for fans to discover. We plan on creating a festival experience that has never been seen in Mexico before, from creative staging and production design to an amazing lineup of artists. Every element has been designed with the fan experience in mind.”

Single day passes were released February 5 with general admission tickets priced at $68.70 and VIP tickets at $154.85 before service fees. Two-day general admission tickets and VIP packages are also available for purchase at $130.85 and $312.74 respectively. VIP amenities include a separate entrance to the festival for expedited access, exclusive decks with a full cash bar overlooking the stage, private restroom facilities and a souvenir laminate and lanyard. EDC, known for its signature audiovisuals, theatrics, carnival rides, and state-of-the-art stage and production design, has been growing in popularity since the festival’s birth 18. Since its inception in 1996, millions have traveled across the globe to live the Electric Daisy Carnival experience. Whether it’s at its flagship event in Las Vegas in June or the numerous other US cities it now travels to, EDC has been known to bring fans an experience like no other and showcases the best electronic dance music has to offer.

OCESA, one of the most influential promoters in the world, has promoted international artists: U2, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney and many more to the Mexican market. This will be OCESA first partnership ever with Insomniac but the organization has also worked with numerous notable artists in the electronic dance music industry including: Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, Calvin Harris and deadmau5, among others.
