Insight 101: How to use your insight and intuition to get much better results

You are winning the game you are playing. What game are you playing?

What you think about you bring about. So how do I use my inner sense to get my best results?

Stop Thinking so Much

We think way too much and it stresses us out and leads us down dead end jungle paths.

Here's a tip, the next time you have a decision to make, STOP, pause ask youself what you should do and then DON'T LISTEN TO THE VOICE IN YOUR HEAD.

Rather than guessing an answer, see if you can discern one, from what is already here. Either as a "sense" you have, a feeling in your body.

You may need to get quiet and relaxed as you practice this and it may seem to not be working at first, but have patience. Let an answer come to you, don't go to it.

Monitor Your Thoughts

We ahve them all the tIf you're not happy with how your life is going now, begin to monitor your thoughts about yourself and "how life really is."

In my experience as a personal coach, when my clients slow down and just look, without thoughts or judgment, they are often amazed at how many more options are already here and how much more they are able to see.

Trying Hard Doesn’t Work – Be Loose, Focused and Get Out of Your Own Way.

How many times have you tried really hard to figure out a problem, thinking it through again and again and wound up with a headache and no end in sight or at the complete opposite direction of where you want to be?

Thinking hard is the ego’s way of feeling important. But it’s like powering a 747 jet with a hamster. The ego is a great scout, but the intuition, the Higher Self, is a much more effective and natural way to get you where you want to be. It’s your real engine of growth.

Set it and Forget it

I suggest using a proven method. Nearly all great artists, athletes, leaders and sages use a combination of visualization and inspiration.  Instead of reaching for your goal with the limited capacity of the ego mind, get out of your own way and let the inspiration flow directly to and through you.

Tiger Woods was described in a magazine article as he prepared for a shot “as if he were meditating on a fortunate result that had already happened.”

Athletes and artists have described this feeling as achieving ‘relaxed focus.’ They quiet their mind, have a moment of patience, see or feel the result and without commanding, they trust and follow their best impulses to take them there.

You can begin to practice this anytime. Once or twice a day, take a minute or two to Simply Notice.

Quiet your mental chatter, turn off the internal dialogue and Look and See and Feel where you are now, without trying to change it and without judgment. Simply become more aware of yourself and your surroundings and accept that this is how it is for now. You don't have to agree with it, you may notice new things.

Practice this compassionate awareness regularly. You change something simply by observing it.

I enjoyed your interesting and informative advice on how to interact
with the events of daily living. I
agree that there is much to notice
all around us if we observe with an
open mind that allows us to learn and
not just react. I look forward to
more of your creative and helpful perspectives.

The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery: There comes a leap in consciousness, call it intuition or what you will, and the solution comes to you and you don't know why. All great discoveries are made this way

Thanks for the comments Harriet and John. I would add that I've been to John Felitto's workshops and they are indeed inspiring and intuition building. - Roger
