After the success of its first two iterations, Insidious: Chapter 3 has gotten a release date of May 29, 2015. Little is known about the next entry in the Insidious series other than it will focus on another family as reported by Screen Rant. Specs and Tucker, the paranormal investigators from the first two movies, will return as well as the ghost of Elise (Lin Shaye).

The Insidious series is about a family who encounters what they think is a typical haunting, but turns out to be something more. Their son (as well as his father) has the ability to go to 'The Further' or the world of the dead while he sleeps. In the first movie, the son caught the attention of a demon. While in Chapter 2 the father struggled with a human based entity that had taken control of his body.

Will the movie turn the focus back toward the 'Lip-Stick Faced Demon' from the first movie? Only time will tell. Though Chapter 2 was interesting, most movie goers expected the focus to be on the demon rather than the old lady (well not quite the case) that chased the main character from his childhood. Spoiler: The final scene from Chapter 2 alluded to the demon returning, so there may be a connection.

The other concern is that the summer of next year will be extremely busy as far as movies are concerned. Can Insidious: Chapter 3 compete with Avengers: Age of Ultron and Jurassic World? The Avengers brings in massive crowds. The first Jurassic Park movie since 2001? There will be serious competition for what is generally a fall or winter genre.

Insidious: Chapter 3's creative team seems to be confident in its ability to draw audiences, but we'll have to see if its enough to take on The Hulk and a T-Rex.
