An industry insider may have revealed more information on "The Last Guardian" as well as another potential PS4 port. According to a report from Gamepur on May 8, the individual revealed that "God of War Ascension" would be coming to the next-generation system. The PS3 game was first released on March 12 of last year.

The insider believed that "God of War Ascension" may receive similar visual enhancements as "The Last of Us Remastered." The development team at Sony Computer Entertainment Santa Monica Studio could be increasing the native resolution to 1080p in addition to speeding up the frame rate to 60 per second. He is less sure about the release date for the port in addition to whether or not it would be coming out at retailers. The decision to release "God of War Ascension" for the PS4 may be somewhat surprising as the original game got mixed reviews. The same individual stated that the port takes very little resources to developed. Although a major project recently got canceled, leading to layoffs, a completely new game is also in development at Sony Computer Entertainment Santa Monica Studio.

A small update was also posted for "The Last Guardian," which is rumored to be a PS4 title. Although the industry insider couldn't confirm if the long-delayed project would be re-announced at E3 2014, he was recently told that the action-adventure game is still in development. An executive at Sony Computer Entertainment did state that the company is waiting for the right time in order to re-introduce the video game to the public.

E3 2014 will begin on June 10 while Sony Computer Entertainment is expected to hold the annual press conference the day before the event. The PS4 should have another strong showing even without the PS4 port of "God of War Ascension" and the re-unveiling of "The Last Guardian." The next-generation system has already sold 7 million units although it does not have a strong exclusive lineup.
