Santa Barbara residents, culinary students, and food and wine enthusiasts, Tama Takasakhi and Lila Brown founded Inside Wine - Santa Barbara, a great new meetup group to discover great wines in a relaxed Santa Barbara-style setting. The next meetup, scheduled for January 17, will feature the wonderful wines of Claiborne & Churchill presented by owners Clay and Fredericka Thompson.
The Thompsons rarely pour their own wines which include an award-winning dry Riesling, Gewurztraminer and fabulous Pinot Noir. “Usually, their winemaker pours at events, so to have Clay and his wife will be truly special,” Ms. Takasakhi says. “Not only are their wines fantastic, but they have a wonderful story to tell.”
The event, scheduled for Thursday, January 17 at 5:30 p.m., will take place in the La Cantina room of Hyatt Santa Barbara, 1111 East Cabrillo Boulevard. Tickets are $15 per person. Wine lovers are also encouraged to join the group online for a very reasonable membership fee of $15 per year.
