Inside of Me: Lessons of Lust, Love and Redemption by Shellie R. Warren

Inside of Me: Lessons of Lust, Love and Redemption  by Shellie R. Warren is not just a personal memoir, but the story of Ms. Warren's struggle with the aftermath of rape, sexual abuse resulting in the kind of  low self esteem which leads to a vicious cycle of dead end relationships. If you've ever watched your sisterfriends (or your self) continue to knock their heads against the same brick wall over and over again and wanted to yell  "Girl, please stop" or have needed someone to yell it at you then  you'll enjoy Inside.

Not only does Ms. Warren share the pain of the above mentioned rape and sex abuse but also the shame of abortion and "looking for love in the wrong places". And like the rest us, everytime a relationship ends you hope a lesson is learned (much like our own lives). Inside demonstrates the need for a relationship with Jesus Christ. Just like Ms. Warren was unable to disembark from her path of self-destruction without God's help, neither are we able to. Ms. Warren's honesty about not thinking about God during this period is refeshingly honest. Her admission that she was unable to trust God enough to go to him with her "man problems" is very human, honest, and realistic. Just like most people, when Ms. Warren finally does go to God, she finds (like most people) that He's was there the whole time waiting offer healing and provision (yes, provision) for the problems she was trying solve with all those relationships.

Inside of Me is a real page turner (aka you won't want to put it down). I finished it in less than 24 hrs. not because of the length of the book , but because it's just that good.
