Social media can be effective for businesses to get out their messages about their products or services.
Now Comcast has come up with an innovative idea to get out the company's products directly on a social media platform.
The October 10th Wall Street Journal article “NBC Shows to Stream From Tweets: Comcast and Twitter Strike a Deal for 'See It' Feature” by Shalini Ramachandran reports:
Twitter users will be able to tap a "See It" button at the bottom of tweets to stream shows on their smartphones and tablets. The function will be available to people who subscribe to Comcast or other pay-TV operators that have digital licensing deals with NBCUniversal.
This is definitely an innovative way of using social media to provide add-on value to Comcast subscribers while engaging those subscribers so they are less likely to be lured away to other online entertainment.
Can you utilize this idea for something in your own business? How might you use social media to bring your products or services rather than the messages about those products or services directly to your target audiences?
P.S. In the humorous social media category – the October 8th episode of the CBS drama show NCIS featured Twitter as the solution for capturing the bad guy.
