Taking the EDM conglomerate to a new level of stunning visual appeal, DJ Morgan Page, presents the first ever 3D tour. Originally created for Michael Jackson's "This Is It" tour, Morgan's innovative idea to use 3D illustration has in turn created an astonishing sensory overload of light and sound for fans to enjoy. This is Morgan’s first official tour following the incredibly successful “In the Air” tour that included over 35 sold out shows. Before his performance, we got to talk to Morgan about his music and the success of his current tour.
EN: How do you think one becomes a successful DJ in the competitive field of music?
MP: The DJ world is extremely competitive, you have to find ways to stand out and make something unique with your music and your live presence.
EN: How did you come up with using the 3D visuals for the tour and making it into a reality?
MP: I've always wanted to try something different - I'm tired out seeing the same DJ play the same tracks, with the same boring visuals. It's time for fresh thinking and a new way to experience shows. Hi-res 3D is the prefect vehicle to deliver an experience that is an emotional extension of my music. It may even change the way I write music.
Creating the visuals took 30 animators several months to create - it was tons of work, and the results speak for themselves - people were literally speechless after the show.
EN: How do you think the EDM scene will evolve 5 years from now?
MP: It will continue growing but I think the EDM scene will re-focus back on clubs after the festival market becomes too over-saturated.
EN: What keeps you driven to maintain the height of popularity you have accumulated within the music scene?
MP: Creating music is always the biggest rush, but it's a close tie with performing your songs. When a song connects and your inspire collective goosebumps, that's where the magic happens.
EN: If you weren't DJing, what would you want to be doing for a career?
MP: Photographer, graphic designer, or something in travel.
EN: Who has helped you the most creatively in the EDM scene?
MP: I'm inspired by a lot of my fellow artists - but honestly the fans are the biggest inspiration. Their feedback shapes everything.
