Innistrad Game Day will be hitting Magic: The Gathering just in time for Halloween on October 29-30, complete with two Innistrad promo cards with extended-art. Monty Ashley reveals the game day promos today on Magic Arcana on the official Magic: The Gathering site.
All players in attendance will receive a Diregraf Ghoul promo (while supplies last), with the top 8 receiving Elite Inquisitor promo cards. Zombies and zombie hunters, a perfect pair for the season!
Innistrad Game Day has the distinction of hitting immediately after States this year, so you’ll have plenty of decklists to peruse if you’re interested in finding out what you’re likely to be up against in this Standard format event.
Some possible contenders you may see at Innistrad Game Day based on early Innistrad results:
The “new age” Solar Flare deck featuring Liliana of the Veil, Unburial Rites, Timely Reinforcements, etc.
Mono-Red aggro builds with, Stromkirk Noble, Stormblood Berserker, Koth, and the rest of the usual suspects.
U/W and U/B variants embracing Snapcaster Mage.
Birthing Pod concoctions of all kinds.
And many, many more, as Innistrad’s new contributions to the Standard environment shake things up considerably. If you already attend Friday Night Magic at your local store, you’re probably going to have a good idea what sort of things you’ll be up against at Innistrad Game day.
