Children with My American Girl dolls can enroll their toys in Innerstar University, a new online world created to be a virtual campus where girls can use doll avatars to meet new friends, play games, and learn to work hard and do their best.
Each location in the Innerstar University virtual world for My American Girl dolls is designed to appeal to different strengths and interests so that girls can meet other kids who share their likes while also having fun and receiving advice about how to build qualities like bravery and self-confidence.
Chicago families can shop in person for My American Girl dolls at American Girl Place Chicago at Water Tower Place at 835 N. Michigan Ave.
How to join Innerstar University
To enroll in this virtual world, kids must first already own or create a real-life My American Girl doll. Children can customize these 18-inch dolls to match their own hair color, eye color, and hair style.
Along with their new doll, kids receive a code that will allow them to access Innerstar University and begin engaging in what American Girl promises will be a fun and safe virtual environment.
Once at Innerstar University, children create an avatar based on their My American Girl. They control both the personality and the look of this girl, being able to decide everything from her hair and eye color to whether she is sporty, spirited, creative, and so on.
Playing with American Girl's virtual world online
Once enrolled at Innerstar U, kids have a variety of choices for things to do. They can walk around to explore the virutal campus, friend other participants by using scripted e-mails, create and maintain a Yearbook full of awards earned and records of things accomplished at Innerstar University, play games designed to nurture different qualities, and read tips and advice for how to do your best in life.
Visiting Innerstar University
The Innerstar U campus offers an array of locations for girls to visit, each with its own Innerstar guide to help girls navigate the site and get the most out of this place. Locations include:
- Brightstar House (where each child's avatar maintains its own room that kids can decorate, and where they can try on outfits, get a pet, and look at their Yearbooks of achievements).
- the Starlight Library (where you can visit a Help Desk, learn strategies for getting homework done, and borrow books full of American Girl activities and advice).
- the Star Student Center (where girls can check overall game high scores, design cupcakes, and shop for campus gear).
- Sparkle Studios (an art studio where girls can create artworks).
- the Good Sports Center (where you can play athletic-inspired games like Game On!, Dive In!, and Pom-Pom Power that help girls develop teamwork and leadership skills).
- the Blue Sky Nature Center (where girls explore and learn about the outdoors).

Other American Girl online games and fun
Even without enrolling at InnerstarU, each day kids can enjoy a number of other games and activities at the American Girl website. In the future, the company also plans to publish a series of Innerstar University books, set on campus, with plots that allow the reader to make choices that affect the outcome of the storyline.
Interested families can visit the InnerstarU website to watch a preview video about the virtual world and use a map to tour the campus.

i am just wondering why do you have to have a code my mom won't get me one
I know why you need to have a code.
This is such a poorly thought out campaign. I just got off the phone with american girl because we just bought Lanie(the girl of the year) and they say that this only is available for the my american girl dolls not the character ones. my daughter no longer wants to play with her american girl dolls due to this. they should make this available to all dolls.
If you get a outfit that comes with a code ( i think most of them do) then you dont have to worry and you can get on Innerstar u
um i dont get this
um where do you find the codes when i write down innerstar u .com i write down the star code and doll code dosent work i dont know if you write back but if you can please write back id love that um so i read your comments and some of them are like my questions and comments so yea well um that commment that i sended you about saying um i dont get this yea i guess it was kina retarted and dum so um yea that was like the only thing i needed to tell you about but i guessed i used all of the characters katey asprin
I like this website it interests me!! its fun to do when i am bored! :))) i think its great! although the grapics could be a bit better and walking around isnt all that fun you go pretty slow to me but other then those things i like it overall!!
Oh and i got my doll and star code from a outfit they come with those to not just the dolls.
Um.... the codes are only supposed to come with a DOLL. And to get the code, you buy a new DOLL. And I'm sorry to the mother who's kids won't play with their dolls. My stance is, if there is a GoT or JLY or MaG that I like, I'll get it. The website is just like a bonus. Remember the old Ag club? they shut that down! What if you bought a doll just for the website, and then decided to hated it or something? That was like me and webkinz- I wanted them for the website and the website only. That's why I don't play with those any more.
how do you pet sit and what room do you choose???
