Inner Sanctum Mystery: A horror radio show

What is "Inner Sanctum Mystery"?

"Inner Sanctum Mystery" was a radio program that aired from January 7, 1941 to October 5, 1952. It was created by producer, Himan Brown and around 500 episodes were produced during that span. The series featured stories of mystery, terror, and suspense. It had enough 'gore' and horror for fans. Many stars have been on the show, Boris Karloff, Orson Welles, Claude Rains, Frank Sinatra, Mary Astor, Agnes Moorhead, and Burgess Meredith.

While it was a radio show, Universal made six low budget movies that starred Lon Chaney Jr. In 1954, it had been made into a TV show. The radio program had a famed audio trademark which was a eerie creaky door. Raymond Edward Johnson for the first four years of the radio program had hosted the show, he had brought personality to the show.
