Inner Peace Yoga Center to host Yogathon

Inner Peace Yoga Center will host its ninth annual Yogathon to raise money for its scholarship program from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 15 at its 5038 E. 56th St. location. Cost is $25 per person, according to this month's issue of Natural Awakenings. The scholarship helps people who can't afford classes take them.

According to the studio's web site, the schedule is as follows:

8:30 am-9:00 am - Meditation

9:00 am-10:30 am - Regularly Scheduled Mixed level Class

10:30 am-11:45 pm - Regularly Scheduled Beginner 1 Class

12:00 pm-12:25 pm - Yoga for Balance

12:30 pm-12:55 pm - Flow with Live Band

1:00 pm - 1:25 pm - Gentle Joint Release 4 Computer Stress

1:30 pm-1:55 pm - Arm Balances

2:00 pm-2:25 pm - Pranayama

2:30 pm-2:55 pm - Partners Yoga

3:00 pm-3:25 pm - Take it Easy Yoga

3:30 pm-3:55 pm - Hip Openers

4:00 pm-4:25 pm - Hip Openers

4:30 pm-4:55 pm - Sun Salutations of All Kinds

5:00 pm-6:00 pm - Chanting and Meditation

According to the center's Carol Crenshaw, the group will go to Three Sisters Restaurant in Broad Ripple for dinner.

Crenshaw said yoga's health benefits include balancing the nervous system, enhancing the immune system, building strength and flexibility.

"It has almost endless benefits," she said. "Anything that you want help with."
