Inmate death investigated as homicide

The California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation press release for the Sierra Conservation Center reports an inmate found on Wednesday Dec. 11, 2013 in his bed with severe head injuries has died in a valley hospital Thursday evening, Dec. 12, 2013. Tisnado was airlifted to the hospital and placed on life support as soon as the prison staff determined had been injured.

31 year-old Andrew Tisnado was sent to prison from Los Angeles County January 31, of this year. Tisnado had been arrested for being an ex-felon in possession of ammunition, and was sentenced to a 4 year term in the Jamestown, Ca. facility. Tisnado had a scheduled parole date of Nov. 2015.

Because this death is being investigated as a homicide, very few details are being released at this time.
