Summer is not quite here, but spring is in full force. Spring break is over, yet this weekend will be warm and beautiful, and if parents are saving money for Memorial Day or a summer vacation, they might be a loss for fun activities to enjoy with the kids.

Here are some awesome ideas on activities in San Bernardino County that are either free or very inexpensive, yet fun for the whole family.

In Victorville:

In Redlands:

The Frugal Frigate, a Children’s Bookstore is located in Historical Downtown Redlands. The bookstore is part of an old carriage house built in the 1800’s. Walls are made of old brick and covered with hundreds of signed posters from visiting authors and illustrators. Imagine sitting and reading among solid wood shelves filled with children’s books. They carry the latest in children’s books along with Caldecott, Newbery, first editions and out of prints. All are mixed together in a wonderful treasure hunt for book lovers. In Ontario:

Scandia is a wonderful place to take the family for a day trip. It is a great amusement park with rides for all ages, and it also has water activities, miniature golf, an arcade, snack food, and picnic tables to sit. This is not a full amusement park, but it is affordable, although the concession stands can be pricey. It is always a blast for the whole family. For more information click here: Scandia .

In Rancho Cucamonga:

Try a picnic with the kids. Don't go out for anything too fancy. Prepare a fruit salad, maybe hotdogs, or fresh cheese, hard boiled eggs, and water, or homemade lemonade. Red Hill Community Park has an awesome lake, great views, and a relaxing family atmosphere and also has horse shore pits, shuffleboard courts, picnic shelters, playground, and more.
