This season of Spike’s “Ink Master” has been wild, crazy, aggressive, and full of awesome tattoos, but it all comes to an end, live on May 20, 2014. Of the three remaining finalists, one will win the title of “Ink Master,” an Inked magazine editorial, and a cash prize of $100,000, according to International Business Times.
Matti Hixon, Scott Marshall, and Walter “Sausage” Frank have each been working hard at home on a 35-hour back piece to be revealed tonight before a live studio audience and “Ink Master” judges Dave Navarro, Oliver Peck, and Chris Nunez.
During the prior season's finale of the successful reality show, contestant Kyle Dunbar was elected to return in season four. He did so, but was booted only weeks into the series after getting heated over some of the judges’ comments about him and his artistic abilities.
In the episode in which he was removed from the show, Kyle got up close and personal with judge Chris Nunez. Things got a little scary, a bit of pushing and shoving ensued, and the two men almost came to blows before Kyle was removed by security.
One finalist, Matti Hixon, spoke to International Business Times about the altercation, saying, “If anything I think it got watered down… I mean from what they could show it’s like a fraction of what actually goes on in the whole episode.” He told the website the episode actually took three days to film and the pressure on Kyle kept building and building until he “just popped the top.”
According to the “Ink Master” website, the show is currently casting for season five, which attests to the show’s massive popularity among fans.
The “Ink Master” live finale airs tonight, May 20, 2014, at 10/9c on Spike.
