This week in the Battle Arena, our competitors are going to be explosive match ups that may make even Darkseid himself faint. Welcome to week 4 of Injustice: Gods Among Us, Battle Arena!
Our first match up shows an all-time fan favorite of DC comics, Superman, facing off against the founder of the Sinestro Corps, Thaal Sinestro, arch-nemesis of Green Lantern! Why should the Man of Steel fear? Plenty of people know him as the strongest, fastest, and the most impervious of all the heroes out there. However, one of Superman’s lesser known weaknesses consists of something Sinestro essentially uses all the time: Magic. That is correct, magic is one of Superman’s weaknesses, right after Kryptonite. This is exactly what the power ring is that Sinestro uses, exactly that of the Green Lantern Corps. This fight will not be as easily won as several people would believe it to be.
In the other fighting ring, we have the creative and accurate Green Arrow, taking on the beautiful and quick Hawkgirl. This fight is fairly well balanced in amounts of power. Several people could argue that Hawkgirl could be too fast when being compared to Green Arrow. While she has speed on her side, Green Arrow is one of the best archers in the world.
Perspective on how the first fight could play out? Clark Kent is an extremely powerful hero. He’s Superman, the Man of Steel. With all the powers and strength behind him, this battle could be over before it began. Don’t side with him too quickly, either, as referenced earlier one of his biggest weaknesses is magic. Sinestro, corrupted by evil and desire for power, wields the sinister properties of the yellow power ring. That power ring is, essentially, a magic ring. This ring works just as the Green Lantern’s ring works, it’s an extension of his imagination. With all the power that Superman has in his body, could be able to stop magic?
With the second fight, both of these contenders are strong fighters. Hawkgirl has pure strength behind her, with Nth equipment and mace on her side. For everyone, it’s obvious that they’re powerful martial artists. If they were to get into a bout with hand-to-hand combat it could either of these contender’s games. What if Hawkgirl were to keep a distance from her adversary? While it would keep her safe for the time being, she would have no choice but to run for close range because range is what Green Arrow does. He’s the world’s best marksmen and if he lines up a sight, can Hawkgirl get out of the way in time?
