The Bulls had a day off on Tuesday, only venturing to the team's practice facility to receive treatment and watch film.
For Marquis Teague, the day included being assigned to the team’s D-League affiliate, the Iowa Energy and then being recalled before his plane landed on Tuesday night.
According to the Tribune, an MRI was given to veteran Mike James before Monday’s triple-overtime loss and it revealed a sprained MCL, which will cost the 38 year-old one to two weeks and created a need for Teague’s services.
James played 10 minutes in Monday’s game.
The move to send Teague to the D-League came as a surprise given that the team is thin in the backcourt with Derrick Rose out for the season and Jimmy Butler still yet to practice, still recovering from a right turf toe injury.
In nine appearances this season, Teague has averages of 1.2 points, 0.8 assists in 8.9 minutes.
