The most noted and talked about injury is to the 2010-2011 MVP Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose who suffered a torn cartilage in his right knee that required surgery which has possibly cost him the rest of the 2013-14 season. Rose sat out last season following surgery on his left knee for tearing the anterior cruciate ligament that occurred in Chicago's 2012 playoff opener against Philadelphia.

The Brooklyn Nets seem to have the most injuries than any other NBA team. Their star point guard Derron Williams has been out due to ankle sprains. He fought a right ankle sprain in in this year's training camp. He sprained his left ankle on November 15, 2013 against the Phoenix Suns. He missed two games, returned and sprained the same left ankle on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 when he landed on Charlotte Bobcat player Kemba Walker's foot.

Other Brooklyn players with injuries are Paul Pierce who will miss the next 2-4 weeks of game action due to a non-displaced fracture in his right hand, Center Brook Lopez who is playing on a sprained ankle, Jason Terry who is bothered by a sore knee and Andrei Kirilenko who has back issues.

Key NBA players around the league with injuries are Tyson Chandler, center for the New York Knicks, who has a fractured right fibula, L.A. Clippers shooting forward Matt Barnes who suffered a retinal tear in his left eye which required surgery, Kyle Korver of the Atlanta Hawks who is dealing with a rib contusion, Houston Rockets guard Jeremy Lin who has a knee injury, Newly acquired swing man Andre Iguodala who has a strained left hamstring and Marc Gasol of the Memphis Grizzlies who has a MCL sprain.

Two time MVP L.A. Laker point guard Steve Nash and Laker center Kris Kaman are both caressing sore backs. The Laker organization is still waiting on the return of their five time NBA Champion and Two time MVP champion all star Kobe Bryant who is recovering from a ruptured left Achilles Tendon tear while the Indiana Pacers are anticipating the return of their forward Danny Granger.

Hopefully these players and other NBA players with injuries will heal and become healthy enough to rejoin their team on the court.
