Detroit Lions receiver Calvin Johnson had a number of injuries last season which limited him during a total of 38 practices according toMLive.com.

Johnson’s feeling good as of now, but last year he had his knee drained weekly and his finger was stuck at a 90-degree angle. One could argue despite the amazing stats he produces, injuries could be catching up with Calvin Johnson.

“I’m feeling good,” Johnson said after a recent OTA practice. “Knee’s feeling good, hand’s feeling good, so I can’t complain.”

In 14 games, Johnson caught 84 passes for 1,492 yards and 12 touchdowns. “I’m not going to play if I can’t run,” Johnson said. “It might have been painful, but I could still go out there and still play.”

The Lions are the only team in the NFL to have the same player lead them in receiving yards for the last six years consecutively and you have to wonder if it’s hurting Calvin Johnson.

He might be Megatron to most, but he’s also an NFL player who gets one heck of a work out each week. The sooner the Lions find someone to step up beside him, the better and longer Johnson could play.
