As it turns out, it appears there will be a Dayton outdoors show next spring.
A few weeks ago I reported the 2014 show had been canceled because promoter Jody Witzky had fallen from a tree and was too injured to be able to put on a show so soon. All that has changed.
“I talked a lot about this with my wife and also with Dan Armitage (an outdoor writer and broadcaster from Columbus),” Witzky told me this week. “I have been taking a lot of therapy
and am feeling better. I may have to do it with one arm, but I have decided to go ahead with the Dayton show.”
The show will be March 7-9, 2014 at the Airport Expo Center in Vandalia.
“I think there is too much potential for me to give up on Dayton,” said Witzky, 60, who admits he lost money on the Dayton show this year. “You have to give a show a couple of years to develop.”
He said there will be a good balance of hunting, fishing and shooting represented, including some area boat dealers.
Interested exhibitors can reach Witzky at (440) 371-2586.
