Rockwall, Texas – There is a four-year-old dog named Bear Winter that needs money for a surgery. Bear is a Great Pyrenees/Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) mix. Bear used to be very playful, but now his leg hurts so bad that he can barely walk and he is in constant pain. Bear had an accident that caused his left, hind ACL to tear and it causes a lot of pain. This injury causes his leg hurts all the time; when he walks, going through the doggy door, climbing up and down the steep steps to my porch. In fact, this mom has even tried carrying him but due to his size and injury that hurts too badly.

After Bear’s accident, his human mother took him to see a vet and the vet said my ACL was torn. He also said he myself was unable to perform the necessary procedure because Bear is such a big boy, weighing in at 70 pounds. That vet referred me to a specialist, who quoted the surgery expense to be as much as $3000 - $3500. Bear’s mom doesn’t have that kind of money, so she tried and tried to find help. She looked for months, searching for a better price. She even tried calling Texas A&M University for help. No luck. All she wants is to be able to have the funds to get Bear this surgery so he doesn’t have to live in constant pain and she doesn’t have to know he is in constant pain and that she can’t fix it because she doesn’t have the money herself. So the goal is to get Bear walking pain-free again.

Bear will need a Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) which will cost $2125. The procedure will be performed at Rockwall County Veterinary Clinic, 2897 State HWY 66, Rockwall, TX. 75087, or call (972)-771-9422. Please donate directly to the vet by phone or mail and make sure to tell them that your donation is for Bear Winter’s surgery. If you mail your payment, please be sure to make your check or money order out to “Rockwall County Veterinary Clinic” and write that it is for “Bear Winter’s acct” in the memo.
