UK consumers have always had an eye on fashion, and one thing's for certain: They have a serious love of shopping. A new infographic was released on Wednesday, Sept. 11 from Eldzo looks at just where and how Britons like to allocate funds to clothing.
The infographic notes that clothing lines like Burberry, Next, TopShop, Mulberry, Supergroup, and French connection are amongst those that lead the industry within the United Kingdom.
Online shopping has been a large part of the clothes and accessories shopping landscape over the last half-decade. Just over a third of all UK consumers use the internet to shop for clothing, while an estimated 60% of all citizens will shop online for clothing.
The infographic says that an estimated 1.5billion euros was spent on clothing and accessories that were UK-made products in 2010. Over 1.5 million shoes were created in the Skelmersdale factory by Hotter Shoes in 2012.
But it is not only what Britons spend that is growing, it is what they save. Nearly 29 billion pounds in savings have been tallied using online sales. That constitutes a 9% savings from retail prices. But the brick-and-mortar stores are not exactly going away anytime soon. The infographic shows that there are over 287,000 retail outlets within the UK.
