Local collectors of records and music paraphrenalia are in luck again as the MSP Music Expo is nearly here again. The bi-monthly event happens this Sun., March 3, 2013 at the Ramada Plaza Minneapolis, 1330 Industrial Boulevard, one block north of Broadway St. NE. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is still only $3, $2 with two cans of non-perishable food items for the local food shelves. Early bird admission is $10 beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The Expo is held in the comfortable Itasca Room just off the lobby. The dealers will offer an array of goods including vinyl, discs, posters, movie trading cards and more. Anyone starting a collection can easily find many rare items. Anyone wanting to sell a collection can discuss it with Tim Schloe, project coordinator. Tim can assist customers in finding the right dealer to make an offer.
Local collectors who live closer to Rochester, MN, or just enjoy making the trip out of town should note that the next Rochester Music Expo will happen on Sun., May 5, 2013. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. This Expo will be at a new location, The Best Western Plus Soldier's Field Tower and Suites, 401 6th St. SW, Just off Broadway. It will be held in the Evergreen Room on second floor.
Admission for this Expo will be only $1 although the early bird admission is still $10. All those interested should check www.mspmusicexpo.com for a map and detailed directions. This show attracts dealers from Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska who offer slightly different items that don't often show up in Minnesota.
