Add this one to the short list of sequels that are better than the originals. One did not expect to like the original as much as one did and this one has now become a film one is anxious to see...again and again...and again. It's everything an animated feature should be--good escapist fun, entertaining, a better story, a chance to learn more about the characters, bigger adventure and more of everything that made the first one so appealing.

Director Dean DeBlois made this one extra special by delving into his characters, making them mature in front of our eyes. The story is engrossing, the animation is more panoramic and it's beyond all expectations, even down to John Powell's music. Powell has worked on the Bourne franchise, both "Rio" films, three of the four "Ice Age" movies as well as "Antz", "Face/Off" and many more. DeBlois has raised his own bar for the impending Part 3.
