STARRING: Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Paul Giamatti and Sally Field.

SYNOPSIS: Peter Parker (Garfield) finds life is busy between taking out the bad guys as Spider-man and spending time with Gwen (Stone). Peter is unable to keep his promise to Gwen's father--to protect her by staying away from her--but things will change dramatically when a new villain, Electro (Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (DeHaan) returns and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
This film is another product of Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci plus another studio-appointed co-writer--Jeff Pinkner. Kurtzman and Orci have announced that they are breaking up as it were to follow individual goals--one of which seems to be directing Star Trek 3. In the meantime, there is still some material already filmed that is to be released, one of which is this gem. It shows an obvious prejudice to say that this one is more satisfying than part one despite the over-abundance of characters. These writers are capable of handling that task although they do leave several questions unanswered.
It is assumed that those questions will carry over into Part 3 to be released in June of 2016. Garfield has already signed on for that one but not yet for Part 4 (2018). Before this is all completed, there will also be two spinoffs ("Venom"; "Sinister Six") which could both include Spider-man and which could result in these questions being answered. A tangled web being woven, all to keep us hooked.
Anyway, this film will be released tomorrow (May 2, 2014) and is the only one that matters right now. It is so worth the wait. The visuals and special effects are stupendously incredible and Spidey's web-travelling through town is even more dazzling than before. Tragedy will strike with bone-chilling violence and new threats will imperil our hero. This film is great escapist fun at its best so just sit back and let it absorb you.
