SYNOPSIS: The life, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Except for the atheists, everyone should be fairly happy with this film. You know the atheists. They plod through life, loudly proclaiming there is no God. Yet, the moment some gang-banger points a gun at them they're saying the Lord's Prayer louder than any Bible-banging Christian ever has done. This interpretation of the life of Jesus Christ is as good as "The Bible" was on the History Channel. It was written by the same people--Colin Swash, Nic Young and Richard Bedser.
It's a straightforward account of the man who was/is the Song of God. It's as faithful to the story as it can be with no controversy. Not like Mel Gibson's "Passion of the Christ".
Yet, the film is receiving mainly negative reviews for being too dull and for it's lack of controversy. It may be that the story overpowers the telling but it's still a great story. The lush music of Hans Zimmer makes a unique presentation that is best left to the individual to assess. If it makes people happy or more at ease then it's a good thing. Certainly better than reading the news.
