"NON-STOP" from Universal Pictures opens Fri, Feb. 28, 2014.
STARRING: Liam Neeson, Julianne Moore and Michelle Dockery.
DIRECTOR: Jaume Collet-Serra ("Unknown")
SYNOPSIS: U.S. Air Marshall Bill Marks (Neeson) is on duty during a transatlantic flight from New York City to London. Suddenly, he receives a series of cryptic text messages demanding that he instruct the government to transfer $150 million into an off-shore account. Until he secures the money, a passenger on his flight will be killed every twenty minutes.
Now we know what human life is worth in dollars. Lots-apparently. Who's the guy to latch onto all those bucks? Liam Neeson, of course. Who else could save all those lives (well, most of them) and pull off such a preposterous story? Mr. Action himself.
Seriously, could the plotline be any more absurd? You really have to suspend every shred of disbelief to buy into this. Yet, Neeson and Moore (among others) really turn this into a wildly exciting flight. As long as you don't ask too many questions, this is a good flick.
A little hint. The ending is completely insane (inane). You'll figure that out for yourself. Once you stop slapping yourself and leave the theater, you'll be just fine. Life will go on. These people will make other films and all will be well in the kingdom.
