Parker is a professional thief with a set of rules that go out the window when his crew double-crosses him on his latest heist. They steal his stash and leave him for dead He takes on an unlikely partner, Leslie (Lopez), and devises an outlandish plan to reclaim his goods.
Statham recently co-starred in "The Expendables 2" with Sly Stallone. He also starred in the "Transporter" series and has done many other successful action films. He's not a great actor by any means but he is a great stuntman. His films are very tongue in cheek and, like the rest of them, this film is not to be taken seriously.
Lopez is hardly a great actress but she's done a couple of fun things. Forgettable but fun. As long as she doesn't sing, she's easy to take. Well, easier. That noise she makes is just barely musical and has already made it impossible to respect Steven Tyler.
This will be the most fun release this weekend and should do well at the box office. Since Tom Barnard (KQRS-FM morning show) dismissed it out of hand, it will probably be a lot better than expected. "Parker" is based on a novel by Donald Westlake.
