Local writer/director/producer Christopher R. Mihm lives in his own world--the Mihmiverse. At the core of his world are his films which now number eight. He is currently in production of his ninth film--"The Late Night Double Feature". These are all family-friendly homages to the low-budget cheesy films of the 1950s and 1960s which still show up on late-night television. Mihm's films are all filmed and produced in the Twin Cities area using the talents of local actors.
Now, Mihm is considering expanding his Mihmiverse by exploring the possibility of publishing a 1950s-style pulp fiction magazine a la 'Astounding Science Fiction and Amazing Stories'. Magazines such as that were very popular collections of stories that nostalgic collectors still seek at flea markets and book stores. If you're a writer or someone who has considered writing, Mihm is seeking short stories for inclusion in the "proof of concept" first issue.
All stories must meet the following criteria:
*Be original works--no adaptations considered.
*Be 50 pages or less with no minimum word count.
*You MUST have complete copyright ownership of your submission.
*Must be retro "fantastic fiction". Beyond sci-fi, steampunk/Victorian, fantasy, light horror, even
adventure stories are all acceptable. No cyberpunk or anything involving the internet that doesn't
come from a unique 1950s-style perspective.
First issue deadline is Oct. 1, 2013. For all accepted stories, the author will retain the copyright but will give Saint Euphoria LLC permission to publish the work online and off (physical copies). For questions comments and submissions, email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
