Info 101: College scholarships with February deadlines

Looking for Scholarships for your high school or college students?  There are scholarships here for every grade level from 9th through college.  This list does not have all scholarships available.  There are sure to be ones I missed.  If you know of a scholarship with a February deadline, please share it in the comments section.

Phi Delta Kappa International: Must show interest in pursuing a career within the field of education and have a 3.0 or higher $1500 Deadline: February 1


Summer Undergraduate Program in Engineering Research at Berkeley Open to underrepresented students focusing in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering. Award: $3,500 stipend and $600 traveling allowance Deadline: February 1

National Peace Essay Contest:  Students who are in grades 9-12 must be attending a public, private or parochial school or participating in a high school correspondence program in any of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, or the U.S. Territories. $1,000; Deadline: February 1

Loyola Marymount Academic Scholarship There are several scholarships available at Marymount. 
 Deadline: February 1

California Congress of Parents and Teachers, Teacher Education Scholarships This scholarship is based on volunteer service done at school. Award: $750; Deadline: February 1

Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. Graduating high school senior accepted by participating colleges and universities. Must be in financial need and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Award: $1,500 Deadline: February 1

American Physical Society Black, Hispanic, or Native American U.S. citizens with a physics interest. Must be a high school senior, college freshman or sophomore. Award: $2,000; Deadline: February 5

Samuel Fletcher Tapman Scholarship  High school freshman, sophomore, or junior in an ASCE student chapter and also a national member in good standing at the time of the award. $1,500; Deadline: February 9

American Bar Foundation Summer Research Fellowships for Minority and Undergraduates,
Applicants are invited from junior students of African, Mexican, Native American, or Puerto Rican heritage. Must be U.S. citizen or legal resident. Scholarships for sophomore and junior academic majors in social sciences or humanities; Award: $ 3,500/10 weeks; Deadline: Feb 13

Society of Women Engineers Program The minimum GPA is 3.5/4.0 for freshman applicants and 3.0/4.0
for sophomore, junior, senior & graduate applicants. Open to women majoring in engineering; incoming freshmen admitted to a SWE approved school.  $5,000; renewable; Deadline: February 15. 

Booker T. Washington Scholarships This program is open to graduating high school seniors or high school graduates preparing to enroll in their first year of college education. Applicant must be a minority FFA member interested in pursuing a degree in agriculture. The following ethnic groups may apply: African-Americans, Asian-Americans or Pacific Islanders, Hispanics, Alaska Natives, or American Indians. One $10,000 and three $5,000 scholarships are awarded Deadline: February 15


California Masonic Foundation
High school senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA accepted or enrolled as an undergraduate. Must be a CA resident, U.S. citizen, and demonstrate financial need. Award: $500 & up; renewable, 100 awards; Deadline: February 15

Ford/EEOC Endowed Scholarship Program Applicants must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA
and be enrolled full time at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. In addition, preference will be
given to Ford employee’ or spouses, and children of Ford employees. The scholarship is merit based and can be rewarded up to three times. Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 26


Newhouse Scholarship Program Applicants must be college juniors seniors that are of Hispanic descent and interested in majoring in print journalism. Applications, which may be submitted in English or Spanish, must include an autobiographical essay of 500 words describing some aspect of
the relationship between Hispanic Americans and the press. Selection is based on academic excellence, a demonstrated interest in journalism as a career, and financial need. Award: $5,000 per year (for two years), funding to attend the association’s convention, and an internship during the summer between the junior and senior year; Deadline: February 28

American Chemistry Society Scholars Program  Must be African-American, Hispanic/Latino, or American Indian. Applicants must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S, and a full time student at an accredited college, university, or community college. Students who are high academic achievers in chemistry or science are encouraged to apply. GPA 3.0 or higher. Award: $3,000/ year Deadline: March 1
