Last night the 10 p.m. Fox News in New York reported that influenza outbreaks were on the rise with an higher than normal number of people infected this season. This is in line with experts who have stated that 2013 could represent the strongest nationwide outbreak of influenza in a decade.
While getting a flu shot is smart, there are other things families can do everyday to decrease their risk of getting the flu. Check out the Vicks Cold & Flu Survival Guide from pediatrician and American Academy of Pediatrics fellow Dr. Jennifer Trachtenberg for more details.
Now consumers can help others fight against influenza this season. With the promise to distribute $25,000 worth of cold and flu products to U.S. families in need, Vicks has partnered with the charity Baby Buggy, founded by Jessica Seinfeld.
For every email, Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest "Share" of its Cold & Flu Survival Guide, Vicks will donate a Vicks Behind Ear Thermometer and Starry Night Humidifier to the non-profit. Anyone participating will also have a chance to win a Vicks Starry Night Humidifier.
