Inflatable motorcycle suit proposed for crash survival

This is a whimsical idea and I'm presenting it here for your amusement. But who knows. Maybe someone could figure out how to make this thing actually work.

It seems this Canadian guy, Rejean Neron, came up with this idea of an inflatable motorcycle suit, dubbed the "Safety Sphere," that upon being triggered by a crash, would inflate into a sphere around the rider. Thanks to the wonders of computer-generated imagery, he even created the video at left to show it in operation.

Of course there are some loose ends to be tied up and the commenters at YouTube have pointed out some of the more amusing ones. For instance, vvtheduckvv remarked that, "Meanwhile when blown-up his hands that are poking out and are ground down to little nubs... lol."

Or, as Jivje0is0pr0 noted, "You don't want to crash wearing this suit while traveling up a very steep road..."

StuffedDom took a more practical perspective: "But say of you're on the motorway (highway) or a main road and you inflate into a ball and fly into the other lane or other side of the road surely you're going to cause a lot of crashing and damage to other drivers?"

Then of course, there always has to be a wiseguy. Says checkers3901, "What if you crash into a truck full of needles ???"

As I said, we're talking whimsy here. But it's a fun idea. See for yourself.
