Infinity Ward reveals suspected Steam Box prototype

On March 2 Infinity Ward, makers of “Call of Duty”, posted two photos to Facebook and Twitter, showing off what looks to be Valve’s prototype Steam Box, an Xi3 Piston PC, with the company’s logo on the device’s side. It also have another device attached to the bottom, which is most likely a hard drive. While the post on Twitter came with the message “What’s this? (phone for scale reference)” the upload on Facebook simply says “Game Development.”

A lot of speculation stems from these posts, as it could mean a number of things. For one, this could mean Infinity Ward has partnered with Xi3 or Valve to launch a new “Call of Duty” title when the Steam Boxes are launched. Something much less obvious could be happening as we speak, but at this point any information is regarded as rumor and speculation, which the company won’t comment on.
