MamaLittleHelper LLC is issuing a voluntary recall of their infant and toddler hammocks. The hammocks are considered a suffocation hazard as the side-to-side movement of the hammock can cause an infant to roll and become pushed up against the item’s fabric or mattress pad. So far, the company has received three reports of the hammocks becoming unbalanced, with no resulting injuries reported.

The baby hammocks in question are model numbers 1010, 1020, and BL222. They consist of a steel frame with a fabric hammock and mattress. Model BL222 also has a rocker device. An additional recall has been issued for the company’s metal C-shaped stand, which was sent to six consumers with model number 1010 and 1020 hammocks instead of the original frame. The hammocks were sold online at www.mamalittlehelper.com from May 2008 through February 2010.

Consumers should stop using the infant hammocks immediately and contact the company for a free repair kit for models 1010 and 1020. Model BL222 cannot be fixed and must be returned in exchange for a new item.

Repair kits can be ordered at www.mamalittlehelper.com/recall.htm. Additionally, MamaLittleHelper can be reached at (866) 612-9986 between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday or via their website at www.mamalittlehelper.com/recall.htm or email at recall@mamalittlehelper.com.
