According to a report from Polygon on Feb. 23, 2013, the trailer for “Infamous: Second Son” that was shown during the PlayStation event where Sony announced the PlayStation 4 and showed what some of the games for it would look like, actually featured gameplay footage. It was not an entirely cinematic trailer, as a tweet from Sucker Punch confirmed.
The tweet came in response to Markus St., who wrote "Indeed the new Infamous looks promising can't wait for gameplay footage."
A representative from Sucker Punch replied:
"What did you think most of that was," Sucker Punch replied. "We just used [a] different camera to make it more cinematic."
Apparently the fantastic shots of the new main character, Delsin Rowe, using his powers were not a pre-rendered cinematic, but were in fact gameplay, just from the point of view of another camera. This is far from the normal thing that a developer would do, as most times they use pre-rendered cinematics for a trailer of this type.
“Infamous: Second Son” will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 console, and will be available when the system launches this holiday.
