Chris Zimmerman has provided more development details regarding the upcoming video game, “inFamous: Second Son.” According to a report from Gamepur on March 17, the co-founder behind Sucker Punch Productions praised the PS4 for having 8 GB of GDDR5 RAM as the development “didn’t have to worry about memory” for the first time in years. You can take a look at his comments from the Playstation Blogcast below:
Having a lot of memory was good, having 8 gigabytes of memory was even better. For the first time ever, and I’ve been doing this for seventeen years, we didn’t have to worry about memory when we were building the game.
Chris Zimmerman also stated that his studio was able to eliminate the need of loading screen for the “inFamous: Second Son.” They were able to do so by calculating the fastest speed in which the main character, Delsin Rowe, can move around the open-world environment. The loading is also helped by the mandatory installation feature on the hard drive of the PS4.
Finally, the co-founder revealed that the development team was using at least 90 percent of the GPU chip at all times. You can find a few screens showcasing the graphics of the open-world action-adventure title with the galley to the left of this article and his statement of the usage below:
It’s the same with the graphics chip. We have the meters on screen showing how much of the chip we have that we’re using, and it’s in the nineties all the times.
“inFamous: Second Son” is often referred to as one of the best looking games on the PS4 due to the highly-detailed character models and environments along with the flashy special effects. The PS4 exclusive video game is set to come out on March 21.
