Sucker Punch’s open-world superhero game has always been exclusive to Playstation platforms, and the developer has revealed that it’s a good thing that next-gen consoles are now here because they are saying that inFamous: Second Son would only be possible on the Playstation 4. As reported by Dual Shockers on Jan 26, inFamous brand Development Director Ken Schramm appeared at Taiwanese event over the weekend to explain that the upcoming title “could only be done on PS4” due to the advancements in the game’s specifications.

The third installment of the inFamous franchise will feature improved graphics with enhanced effects and lighting. The game’s AI and character animation, particularly in the facial expressions of the new models, have also received an upgrade. Even the game world itself in more technically impress as player’s powers will now destroy the city around them. Pushing the series forward with these advancements is why Sucker Punch claims that only the PS4 has the power to handle the game.

To experience the next-gen jump in the franchise, players will take control of an all new character. Unlike Cole, the lighting charged protagonist of the first two inFamous titles, fans will step into the shoes of Delsin who wields new fire-based powers.

inFamous: Second Son releases on Mar 21 as a Playstation 4 exclusive.
