Indulge in an early New Year's celebration at the Great Lakes Science Center

Cleveland's Great Lakes Science Center located on the shores of Lake Erie, is offering a New Year's Eve Eve event on Sunday, December 30 where you can celebrate the New Year early with lots of family-friendly activities.

New Years Eve Eve Taking place from 7 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. on December 30, visitors to the 8th annual New Year's Eve Eve celebration will be able to explore a multitude of hands-on exhibits and holiday-themed demonstrations.

Guests will be able to see fruitcake explosions, go carpet skating on an indoor rink, make their own fake snow, taste-test liquid nitrogen ice cream and build structures using toothpicks and marshmallows.

Also included in the admission price is the opportunity to see two movies on the Science Center's domed OMNIMAX screen. The movies are "To the Arctic" and "Alaska: Spirit of the Wild."

Guests will receive complimentary hot chocolate, cookies and brownies.

There will be a countdown to the New Year at the end of the night with a ginger ale toast followed by a big balloon drop with 1500 balloons dropping from a height of three stories.
