Indoor Championships name top senior seeds

The USTA Men’s 70 and 75 Indoor Championships get under way Monday, March 18, at the Downtown Club at the Met. Ninety-five players have entered.

Former Houstonian Jimmy Parker, now living in Santa Fe, N.M., has been named the No. 1 seed in the men’s 70 singles, and Lester Sacks, New Orleans, leads the 75 singles.

Parker and Ken Robinson, San Carlos, Calif., are the No. 1 seeds in the 70 doubles, and Californians Robert Duesler, Newport Beach, and James Nelson, Palm Desert, are top seeds in the 75 doubles.

Doubles finals are at 12 noon Friday, March 22, and singles finals at 10 a.m. Saturday. Viewing is free.
