Sunday, two massive earthquakes hit off the coast of Papua New Guinea, and a Tsunami warning was issued for the area.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) measured the earthquakes at 6.9 and 6.8-magnitude. The first earthquake occurred at a depth of 35 miles, and an epicenter of 71 miles from the city of Kandrian, Papua New Guinea. The second earthquake was centered very close to the first earthquake, at 67 miles from Kandrian.
No injuries or damages were immediately reported.
